This is one of my favourite hikes in Olympic National Park. It starts with a drive along a dusty road from the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Centre to the high altitude trailhead. From there the trail follows Grand Ridge, which is an open ridge with great views into Olympic National Park, until it drops steeply down to Grand Valley and its lakes. We camped at the lake farthest up the valley. The next day we hiked up to Grand Pass which has awesome views south into the heart of the park, taking in the all the big mountains as well as distant Mt Rainier.
