Atacama Desert, Chile

I was lucky to have a full week in the insanely gorgeous, otherwordly landscape of the Atacama Desert in northern Chile. It’s a high altitude desert in the Andes in an area referred to as the Altiplano, which also spreads into Bolivia and Peru. It’s one of all-time favourite places and I would go back there again for sure. The air is so clear that the colours are vivid. I expected that the driest place on Earth would be a barren wasteland but there is a surprising amount of life that manages to survive and flourish in such tough conditions.
