Cerise Creek, Coast Mountains, BC

In late September of 2010, I did a 3 day basic mountaineering course with Canada West Mountain School. We hiked into the Cerise Creek area north of Pemberton and camped below the Anniversary Glacier below Mt Joffre and Mt Matier. After setting up the tents we spent the afternoon practicing glacier travel and ice axe arrests. The next day we traveled on some tougher glacier terrain and practiced navigation, crevasse rescue and rope work. On the third day we all roped up and headed for the col between Mt Joffre and Mt Matier.
