Although short in length, this trail is not short on scenery. Once on the ridge, there are spectacular views of the huge Saskatchewan Glacier and the deep canyon it has carved out. The trail can be done in a few hours but a whole day can be spent relaxing and soaking in the grand views. Although there are excellent views right when you get up on the ridge, it’s worth it to push on and hike to the small peak at the far end of the ridge, which grants you a better view to the glacier clad wilderness to the west. The trailhead is on the Icefields Parkway and within the ability of most people, so don’t expect to have this hike to yourself! There is also a good chance of seeing Bighorn Sheep in the summer.
